Given the growth in use, and type of use, of the Tygron Platform, there is an increasing demand for more flexibility in terms of the possibilities of the licenses. Our renewed license structure will ensure that users of the Tygron Platform can make more flexible adjustments to how they actually use the Tygron Platform, and that the Platform can be integrated even better into their work processes. Cause
The Tygron Platform offers you a solution to calculate with extreme computing power. With almost every computing power solution (think Azure/Amazon) you pay for very specific time slots, where the amount you pay depends on the time and location. In addition, it is not clear in advance whether there is availability with these parties. As a result, you as a customer often cannot immediately estimate how much time you will spend on calculation assignments. This makes calculation time with these parties very difficult to budget for a project.
At Tygron, this works differently. Due to our license structure, you know in advance exactly what the costs will be and calculation time is immediately available. After all, you can iterate and simulate ‘infinitely’ within your license. This makes the Tygron Platform a very accessible solution for project-oriented organizations such as consultants, municipalities, provinces and water boards.
The Tygron Platform is now used in more than 30,000 projects, by more than 100 organizations in 20 countries. There are many different types of users who perform analyses on various themes – at scale levels from neighborhood/district to provincial level. Examples of frequently performed analyses are:
Analyses of urban/spatial planning themes, such as
- Climate-adaptive design
- Climate stress tests
- Calculate urban development plans
- Integrally simulate and visualize current and future situations in a Digital Twin
- Quickly bring together all data on projects
Analyses of regional themes, such as:
- Large-scale flooding
- Regional stress tests

These are the analyses that we optimally support from the Tygron Platform, and want to support, based on a number of important principles that remain unchanged:
- You have access to your own domain for integrating, analyzing and presenting enormous amounts of spatial data. This access is provided via the client, but also via the API.
- In your projects, you have access to all calculation models in the Tygron Platform calculation core, to all configuration options, and your templates.
- Because we work with bundles for a fixed annual price, you always know in advance what you can expect, and you can include this in your budget without being faced with surprises.
- Our license conditions do not change. We relieve you of your worries with our SLA, compliance with NL/EU regulations and ISO 27001 certification.
More flexibility
A frequently heard question from our customers is the request for more flexibility to better support project-based work. We also often hear that the step for an upgrade to a larger bundle is still too big. We would like to meet this demand. That is why we are going to make standard (temporary or permanent) upgrades possible. Standard options for purchasing more km2 of project space, Archive space and space on the GeoShare are immediately visible in the Platform, under the option ‘MyLicense’.
Other options, such as working with an even smaller grid size, or even larger number of grid cells, are options that can cause peak loads on the supercomputer, and require a lot of load balancing, monitoring and support of the systems. We therefore offer these as customized options in consultation.
New feature: Archiving projects
A new feature that we are going to offer is the option to archive your projects. This allows you to archive projects at a much lower cost, so that you can retrieve them at a later stage as a whole, i.e. unchanged. This allows you to easily meet the obligation that many have to be able to reproduce calculations exactly. You can also temporarily put completed projects ‘on hold’ with a view to a possible sequel. The conditions that apply to the archive function are:
- Saving in the archive on GeoShare is a factor of 10 cheaper than as an active project
- If you want to retrieve a project from the archive, there is a one-day ‘delay’ before you have the project available
- Of course, your domain must offer sufficient space

Planning
From 1 April we will be working with the new license structure. If the renewal date of your license falls after 1 April 2025, the renewal will fall within the new structure. We will contact you well before the renewal date in question to discuss everything with you. In addition, there is the possibility to renew before 1 April 2025 in the current license structure so that, if desired, you can still work in this current license structure until the end of March 2026.
