Heat Stress Urban Areas

The Tygron Platform is a simulation package that allows the living environment to be comprehensively calculated at hyper-resolution for aspects such as flooding, heat stress, air quality and noise. The Tygron Heat Module is built in accordance with the guidelines of the Delta Plan on Spatial Adaptation (DPRA). In this training you will learn the basic principles of the Tygron Heat Module, how you can create your own simulations and gain insight into aspects such as PET, wind and shadow. This also gives you insight into the various options for more advanced analyzes such as mapping shade routes and distances to cool places to stay.

Topics covered:

• Setting up the basic components of the Tygron Heat Module, and adding the necessary (own) data such as from a weather station.
• Carrying out and interpreting calculations: what and how is calculated and on the basis of which principles.
• How the Tygron Heat module can work directly with basic registrations; importing and exporting GIS data and analysis results via Arc-GIS, Q-GIS and WFS, among others.
• Incorporating measures (such as urban development plans) and working with the combo overlay to make data more transparent.
• The relationship with climate stress tests and the water module.
• Being able to find and work with the extensive documentation of the Heat Module, available tutorials, the Tygron Community and the Tygron Forum
