Rasterizer
The Tygron Engine includes an internal high-performance rasterizer that transforms polygons and 3D models into rasters suitable for use in simulations.
Polygon Data
Most geospatial data is represented as polygons, such as the 2D layout of a building or woodlands. When you select “Update Now,” the Tygron Engine automatically begins rasterizing this data into the required raster grid at the resolution you specify.
The internal Tygron Rasterizer is specifically designed for small grid cells (<1m), leveraging the power of cloud computing to enable multiple cores to work on the conversions simultaneously. In many cases, you may have multiple simulations running, which are also processed in parallel in real-time.
Internal caching further optimizes this process, ensuring that when you hit “Recalculate,” the rasterization occurs even more quickly.
Elevation Models
The rasterizer also generates elevation models (DTM and DSM) that are not only based on the original elevation maps from when the project was created but also incorporate the heights of buildings. This means that if you add an extra floor to a building, the surface elevation model (DSM) will be automatically updated.
This method also applies when you upload more detailed 3D building models. For instance, the model of a landmark church will be integrated into the new DSM. Enabling you to conduct advanced heat stress or shadow analysis simulations.
Dynamic Modelling
You can also adjust your rasterized data on the fly. By using special Combo Overlays, you can utilize the rasterized data as input and, for instance, modify the height in a specific area to create a water retention zone with a smoothly curved slope.
Multiple outputs can then be incorporated into various flooding Scenarios to identify the optimal positioning with just a single click of the “Update Now” button!
